Hey. I've Wrote Some Songs.

Playing at "Jam 4 Hunger," a charity event at Greenfield High School, with my band "Landslide" in the winter of 1997 or 1998.

Often times people will say "Hey John, what was that song about?" or "How did you come up with that?" or "How did you make it?"

The truth is, no one asks me those questions. I always wish someone would. So, I've figured that I would start blogging about each of them. Then, just in case anyone ever cares, I can send them a link instead of talking their ear off.

I've co-wrote a lot of songs over the years with other musicians, but to keep this clearly focused on me, the center of the universe, I will only be blogging about songs for which I wrote the lyrics, melody, and chord-progressions.* Basically, if you wrote it out like sheet music, I would have written everything on the page.
* I've learned that it's best to not tell drummers how to do their job.
For example, on Orphonic Orchestra's second album, I wrote all of the guitar parts, almost all the chord progressions, some melodies, and some lyrics. On every song I wrote something, but not everything. That album isn't on the list, because we're talking about me here. Meeeeeeeeeeeeee!
