What's going on with me right now: |

- The summer is almost here, and that means my kids will be on summer break soon. That means I don't have much time to get some of my work done. I've been putting about 20 hours a week into my creative consulting business, MarszMedia LLC, while the girls have been in school. That's probably going to take a significant break for summer break.
- I'm about halfway into recording a full length album for Maledictis. I expect that to be published by early 2025. This is one of the most ambitious things I've ever done, both for musical composition and for audio recording. I am a little nervous that it might go completely under everyone's radar.
- I've started writing a fourth book (thisisareal.company). The title is undecided, but I might use the word "hodgepodge" somewhere in the title. It's very similar to my other books of nonfiction short essays. I'm trying to make the essays even short than my previous books, to really focus on underwhelming people with attention spans as short as mine.
- I'm at a pretty unhealthy point in my life. I've gained A LOT of weight. I have a small accountability group that I check in with almost daily regarding exercise, time-restricted eating, and other health stuff. As far as mental health goes, I'm in a pretty good place. I've started seeing a therapist again, and that's going well. I've also been seeing a chiropractor, and I can tell it's improving the overall quality of my life. I started going for neck pain, but it almost feels like that's been practically solved. Now on to lower back pain next.
- My father is still alive and kicking for anyone wondering. He's been in and out of hospice status over the last few years. Visiting him makes me both happy and sad.
- I think June is going to start piano lessons this summer. We'll see how that goes. I'm not confident she'll have the patience for it, but I can tell she loves music. When Charlotte's braces come off, she'll start back up with Trumpet lessons... hopefully not too far behind where she left off. She's taken a break from the trumpet for the entire duration of having braces, but she's been enjoying the Duolingo app's music curriculum.
- My wife, Desiree, is completely exhausted. That's just part of her personality and identity now, I think. She has been doing some extremely impressive things, for which I am really proud of her. But if you want to know about her, you gotta ask her.
